UON, Faculty of Law wins the All Kenyan Moot Court Competition

Faculty of Law mooting students are the winners of The tenth edition of the All Kenyan Moot Court Competition. The event was organized by Kenyatta University and held at Kenyatta University, school of law from 21st -25th March 2022. The competition featured 23 teams from the 14 law schools across Kenya with each team comprising of three members, two oralists and one researcher. Most schools, including the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Law, Parklands presented two teams.

CELEBRATING OUR SCHOLARS: Dr. Nicholas Orago

Dr. Orago is a human rights advocate and academic with his main interest area being economic and social rights. He has taught, trained and consulted extensively in this and related areas of international human rights law and presented papers in international conferences and seminars. He is Executive Director, Economic and Social Rights Centre – Hakijamii Trust, a National Nongovernmental Organization working in the area of economic and social rights for the marginalized and vulnerable communities in Kenya.

Three Faculties Members Shine at the Performance Contracting & Staff Recognition Awards

The 17th cycle of the staff contracting and recognition awards was held at Taifa Hall on March 23rd 2022. This ceremony seeks to recognize and award exemplary staff and longevity of service to the University. The performance management system is a system set in place to help in getting better results from an organization, teams and individuals.

Students’ Organization of Law and Diplomacy visit to Argentine Embassy

Members from Students organization of law and diplomacy (SOLAD) lead by the Chairperson Pressy Akinyi visited the Argentine Embassy on 23rd March 2022 and were hosted by the The Argentine Ambassador to Kenya

This is an instigation of a long-term partnership between SOLAD and Argentina. The students were there to learn more about the Argentine foreign relations with Kenya; and to seek educational career opportunities for SOLAD student members owing to the Kenya-Argentina relations.
