2022 ACLARS Conference

Our faculty member Dr. Moza Jadeed participated in the 2022 ACLARS- The African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies confernce on law, health and healing in Africa  9th Annua. the conference place  took place in Nairobi from 15th – 18th May 2022.

The Kenya Conference addressed the impact of the pandemic on rethinking the concepts of health and healing—physical, spiritual, socioeconomic, cultural, and by other metrics—in Africa.

No sector of African societies has been immune from the effects of COVID-19, prompting opportunities for legal and religious innovation and agency in response.

During the panel on Sex, Gender and Violence in the Covid Pandemic, Dr Jadeed presented a paper on “Kenyan Ministry of Health COVID-19 Prevention Protocols.

The African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies (ACLARS) was formally launched in May 2014 at the Second Conference on Law and Religion in Africa, held at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

ACLARS has sponsored conferences in Ghana, South Africa, Namibia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, and Botswana, with an upcoming event (2020) in Kenya. Each year 60-100 scholars of law and theology, legislators, government leaders, representatives of NGOs have met to discuss timely topics concerning law and religion in Africa.
