Is law the only possible way to imagine justice? What is affective justice? Is it a failure if we attempt to bring about a fusion between legal justice and affective justice? How are we to understand the intimate relation between law and politics in the twentieth and twenty-first century? Must the International Criminal Court remain the most authoritative (global) institution to understand political violence in the continent of Africa? Must the survivors of state violence in the continent of Africa be indebted to the International Criminal Court for its promise of justice?

The workshop was held”, on 9th - 13th May 2022 by Nelson Mandela University in Collaboration with the University of Nairobi’s Maritime Centre- FishFORCE Academy East Africa (UoN-Maritime Centre). The UoN-Maritime Centre is hosted at the UoN Faculty of Law.

A Rewarding Journey in International Commercial Arbitration: UoN Participation in the 29th Willem C. Vis Moot (2022)

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (“Vis Moot”) is the largest moot court competition on international commercial arbitration and the second-largest international moot competition in the world. It has been held annually since 1994 in Vienna, Austria. It attracts over 350 teams from all over the world and has about 20 pre-moots across the world, organized to prepare participants to argue the Vis Moot itself.
