The College of Humanities and Social Sciences held an orientation for the First Year January intake on 22nd January, 2020. The orientation aim was to provide students with information and awareness necessary to help them acclimatize to University life, to introduce students to College services which will support their educational and personal goals (eg.

University of Nairobi students admitted to various programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will finally report on Monday 20 January, 2019.

Freshmen admitted to other colleges in the University of Nairobi reported in September, 2019.

During the 62nd University of Nairobi Graduation, 5,040 graduated from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Prof. Patricia Kameri Mbote went down in history as the first woman to receive the Degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) of the University of Nairobi.

In a bid to enhance efficiency and ease of use of the re-engineered websites, College of Humanities and Social Sciences Web team carried out refresher trainings in all Campuses including Mombasa and Kisumu. The Trainings presented a prime opportunity for the users to expand  knowledge base on managing and updating content on the newly redesigned websites.
