Prof. Winifred Kamau is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Nairobi. She holds PhD in Law, LLM and LLB degrees. She has extensive experience as a Law Teacher, Researcher and Consultant and has published widely. She has presented in numerous conferences and workshops locally, regionally and internationally. Her research interests include Gender and Law, Criminal Justice, and Education Law and Policy. Prof. Kamau is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and has practised law in various law firms and also served as Assistant Director at the Kenya School of Law in charge of continuing professional development. She has consulted extensively with various organisations such as the World Bank, UN Women and FIDA-Kenya. Prof. Kamau is a Board member of the Council of Legal Education (CLE) and the National Council for Law Reporting (KenyaLaw). She also serves on the National Steering Committee for the Implementation of Alternative Justice Systems Policy (NASCI-AJS).
