The University of Nairobi's Faculty of Law has once again demonstrated its excellence on the continental stage, securing an impressive runner-up position at the 33rd Christof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition held in Kigali, Rwanda from July 22-27, 2024.

The prestigious competition, organized by the Centre for Human Rights, South Africa, saw participation from 60 teams across Africa, including 50 Anglophone, nine Francophone, and one Lusophone team. The University of Nairobi's team, paired with Université Thomas Sankara from Burkina Faso, showcased exceptional legal acumen and oratory skills throughout the event.

In a remarkable display of individual talent, Michael Mburu from the University of Nairobi emerged as the Best Oralist during the Preliminary Rounds, while his teammate Emmy Okingi secured the position of Second Best Oralist. These achievements highlight the caliber of students being nurtured at the University of Nairobi's Faculty of Law.

The team's success is a testament to the rigorous training and mentorship provided by their coach, Sam Alosa, whose guidance proved instrumental in the team's stellar performance.
