Njoki Moce and Faith Odhiambo

The law society of Kenya held the 2022 elections for key positions on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Many of the candidates who contested for leadership positions are alumni and faculty members of the faculty of law  

Njoki Mboce was elected as the Nairobi representative to the law society of Kenya council. She will serve from 2022-2024. Njoki Mboce is a lawyer, certified commercial mediator and qualified arbitrator. She is a practicing advocate of the High court of Kenya, and a founding partner at the firm of Njoki Mboce & Company advocates. As an Academic she teaches Law at the Faculty of law where she is also pursuing a PhD, with a focus on maritime delimitation disputes.

Njoki also offers pro bono trial advocacy training to lawyers in different countries like Uganda Botswana and Kenya.

Another faculty member who won the election was Faith Odhiambo. She clichéd the seat of Vice President for the Law Society of Kenya and will serve from 2022-2024. In her acceptance speech, Faith affirmed to work together towards building a stronger united and fair society driven by commitment to uphold the rule of law.

Faith is a highly experienced practitioner with a focus on Competition law, Corporate and commercial law, Tax law, Dispute Resolution among others. She also teaches private law at the Faculty.

The elections were presided over by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with 28 polling centers situated at selected High Court stations across the country

Congratulations to the winners and also to Dr. Paul Ogendi and Dr. Ken Mutuma who also contested and will live to fight another day.
