Dr. Ken Mutuma

Dr. Ken Mutuma has been appointed an adhoc Member of the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal to serve for one year with effect from 15th March 2022. He was appointed alongside 17 other members.

Dr. Mutuma holds a Doctorate and Masters in Law from the University of Cape Town.  He has extensive senior management experience across local and international settings as well as practical knowledge of interdisciplinary issues. His research interests include International law, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, human rights, refugee law and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms

The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) is a judicial body established under the Political Parties Act. The Tribunal has the mandate of hearing:  Disputes among members of a political party; Disputes between a member of a political party and a political party; Disputes among political parties; Disputes between an independent candidate and a political party; Disputes among coalition partners; and Appeals from decisions of the Registrar

This win comes barely two weeks after another two faculty members clinched key positions in the just concluded Law Society of Kenya (LSK) 2022 elections. Njoki Mboce was elected as the Nairobi representative to the law society of Kenya council, while Faith Odhiambo Was elected Vice President for the Law Society of Kenya.
